The Light From Within is an acrylic painting meant to symbolize finding strength and inner peace within oneself. The light the girl in the painting holds in her hands represents the soul, whose light penetrates the darkness of the girl’s surroundings. Above all else, The Light From Within is meant to convey hope. 
 
About Emily Butterfield:
Emily Butterfield is a sixteen-year-old artist who has been dedicated to her many crafts for over a decade. She has taken several art classes, including multiple sessions with the Art League of Long Island. Additionally, Emily is a member of the National Art Honor Society, where she will serve as secretary for her school in the upcoming school year. A talented painter, sketcher, and illustrator, Emily looks forward to continuing art well into the future.
