My ceramic piece, called Illumination, depicts enlightenment overcoming wickedness. The vivid florals represent purity which vanquishes darkness. The branches of thorns scattered throughout the vase exemplify the difficult experiences encountered through life. Illumination is “an interpretation that removes obstacles to understanding.” To have hope, we need to see goodness subjugate the wickedness we encounter. We shall overcome.
