As a cave diver, I am enthralled by the grandeur of the cenotes in Mexico. This photo was taken in Nohoch Nah Chich which is found deep in the jungle. In addition to our side-mounted life support gear, we brought in seven lights producing over 100,000 lumens which illuminated the hidden facets of this large chamber and revealed the story of these ancient stones.

Long Island bassed underwater photographer, John Pfisterer, has been scuba diving for over 20 years.  He is devoted to showcasing landscapes, caves, shipwrecks, marine life, and even fashion models in the watery realms, some of which have been commended in Underwater Photographer of the Year (2024 & 2025) and shown in the International Chelsea Photography gallery as well as BAFFA.
