Bird Watching by Capitandra

Oil & Acrylic Painting

18x24

"Bird watching" is a dialogue between a very lonely and sad young woman and the little birds outside the window. "What happened to your wings?" they were chirping. "I am a human, have no wings," she answered. "But humans can create," they said, "you should grow the wings from your inside, then come, fly with us." The story tells about how we can be transformed and recreate ourselves by observing and honoring the beauty in the unnoticed by many.

About Capitandra:

Capitandra  was born in Romania, in a small town located on the banks of the Danube. She worked as a Professional Nurse in many hospitals in Europe and in America; all the human emotions and major life events witnessed while taking care of her patients became a rich source of inspiration for her art. As a self-taught artist, she learned to mix oil colors on canvas, but her subjects are stories about small, intimate moments suspended in time, where the colors are just tools, not the art itself. Through layers of color and impressionistic brushwork, she offers a narrative about the quiet magic tucked inside moments, gestures, or memories. Her brushwork is loose, intuitive, inviting the viewer to step into a scene and become a breathing part of it.
