In my recent work, I explore nostalgia and the idealism of Americana through small watercolor portraits of iconic Long Island locales. My paintings of retro restaurants, landmarks, and neon signs are designed to evoke a sense of familiarity and longing for a bygone era.

These scenes encourage viewers to reflect on their own memories and share in a collective yearning for simpler times. Using vibrant colors and classic fonts, I aim to transport viewers to cherished spaces, fostering warmth and familiarity. The small format and intricate details offer a glimpse into these memories, viewed through a lens of idealized preciousness.
 
About Hillary Broder:
Hillary Broder is a seasoned fine artist and art educator with over 15 years of experience. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Arts in Art Education from Adelphi University. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across New York State and is held in private collections nationwide.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Hillary enjoys gardening, strong coffee, and feeding chipmunks.
