CAROL ROSENTHAL

Carol Rosenthal is a life-long Long Islander, and retired scientist with a desire to explore the creative side of life.

Artist Statement:

I cannot remember a time in my life when I did not have a camera in my hands. I've always been curious about the world around me, wanting to capture the changing seasons and how they influence the light, colors, and gestures of our natural environment. After many decades of shooting, utilizing many different formats, I am and forever will be a student of photography.

ROBERT VERBECK

Rob Verbeck, a resident of Sayville, is a second-grade teacher at Miller Avenue School in Shoreham. A lifelong photography enthusiast, he has, in the last few years, been refining his craft with a more artistic focus. Since January 2025, he has worked as a freelance photographer, shooting art shows, receptions, and local events for the Great South Bay News & Fire Island News.

Artist Statement:

As a photographer, I engage with a wide range of genres—including street, landscape, nature, and abstract. While much of my work is intentionally straightforward, my goal is always to produce images that evoke a subtle tension between reality and possibility, capturing the interplay of what is, what could be, and what perhaps should be.
