Kathleen Young
Painting at 19 Tariff St, Sayville
From 1:00pm - 3:00pm
As a member of the Sayville Garden Club and its association with BAFFA, of which I continue to be an exhibiting artist, I find both to be great places to express myself creatively. My sisterhood with the expanding community of Long Island artists continually challenges me to see the world through a different lense. Whether I choose photography, watercolor, acrylic, glass or textiles, my final product becomes a signature of what and how I personally value my subject matter.
Michael Chait
Painting at 600 Lincoln Ave, Sayville
From 1:00pm - 3:00pm
I am a retired general internist who is interested in art and have been creating it in a variety of forms for many years. Although it is difficult to categorize what types of art fascinates me the most , I have made art that is either conceptual, contemporary or abstract expressionistic in nature. More recently I have also made sculptures and assemblages with old and new materials. The essence of my art is to invigorate individuals to look at the past, think about the present and experience the reality of the future with clarity.
Christine MacDonagh
Painting at 19 Tariff St, Sayville
From 11:00am - 1:00pm
Christine earned a degree in Fashion Illustration from FIT; a degree in Art from LI University Post; and a degree in English Literature and Art Education from Adelphi University. FIT provided an educational foundation that emphasized the fundamentals of anatomy and form, composition and design. Technical skills were expanded at LIU while experimenting with different mediums and techniques, especially printmaking. At Adelphi, the art of teaching and a broader understanding and appreciation for art, music and literature were developed. Career experience in the fashion and home design industries further enhanced construction, technical and design knowledge. Working with fabrics, colors and textures helped to foster a keen sense of style and use of color. The combination of these experiences has influenced Christine’s art and expression through painting. Christine’s goal as a painter is to create art that elicits a sense of time and place and the joy she experiences in the painting process is evoked with her choice of
vibrant color and expressive brush strokes.
Catherine Rezin
Painting at 600 Lincoln Ave, Sayville
From 11:00am - 1:00pm
My passion for art began at three years old with an insatiable desire to create and draw. It continued throughout my career as a Textile Designer, and exploded since my retirement nine years ago. I have been enjoying painting landscapes, doing portraits, and many commissioned projects. I love to paint with watercolors because it is so challenging to me, and it allows me to learn new techniques with every painting. I have not painted Plein air since my high school outings at the High School of Art and Design, and I am looking forward to pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I can only hope that I capture the beauty of the garden that I intend to paint, and to practice painting more freely.
Bernice Corbin
Painting at 23 Baywood Lane, Bayport
From 1:00pm - 3:00pm
I’m self taught and have been drawing and painting since childhood. I also believe in being Civic minded.
I worked as a Nurse for 33 years and had the opportunity to start my own decorative art business, which I had for 26 years, mostly painting furniture and doing faux finishes and murals. I never had to advertise my business. Word of mouth kept me quite busy! In particular I loved doing children’s rooms.
After retiring my business in 2019 , I have been doing studio paintings. Art expression is a compulsion!!!

Dawn Votapka
Painting at 113 Rollstone Ave, W. Sayville
From 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Having lived on Long Island my entire life, I have an innate love for the area. I have been drawing since I was a child and even after 60 years, the nature of Long Island is always seen in my work. I depict trees and florals in charcoal, ink or pastel, which have been popular over the
years. Growing up in a creative family of visual artisans & musicians, creativity has always been encouraged over the generations. This creativity runs from my grandparents through my
parents, siblings, children and nephews. My husband is also a photographer. I especially love knowing where a buyer intends to put my piece so I know where it's "home" will be and often picture it in it's place as part of their lives.
For more info about these pieces or my art, please contact me at StudioDawn.
