The Bay Area Symphony is a
community orchestra of consisting of approximately 60 players.
Membership consists of a combination of teachers, aspiring
musicians, and other professionals as well as selected students.
All are dedicated volunteers who love classical music and the
opportunity to contribute to the cultural programs in the area.
For over forty years the group has performed three or more
concerts per year playing a rich variety of classical literature,
symphonies, concerti, overtures, and accompanying major choral
works by the world's great composers. Concerts in the last few
years have included Tschaikovsky's 5th Symphony, Elgar's Enigma
Variations, and the choral work Dona Nobis Pacem by Ralph
Vaughn-Williams.
String players are always welcome. There are occasionally
openings for woodwind, brass and percussion players. Teacher's
in-service credit is offered. |
