A Little Garden Music
Not To Be Missed
Beautiful
music, artists at their work, and lovely gardens. Put them all
together and you have “A Little Garden Music”. Whether it be in
the joy of a song, the creation of an artistic endeavor, or the
appreciation of horticultural wizardry, you’re sure to be
inspired by what’s in store on Saturday, June 19, 2010.
Once again this year, BAFFA will produce this event in
conjunction with the Sayville Garden Club. Seven private
gardens—some belonging to garden club members—will be opened to
the public. Six of the gardens are in Sayville and one is in
Bayport.
The tour begins at 10 AM at the Gillette House located at 47
Gillette Avenue in Sayville. Exchange your pre-purchased ticket
on the day of the tour for the self-directed tour guide.
Admission tickets at $20 per person are now available in Sayville
at Coming Home to Country, and in Bayport at Bayport Flower
Houses, Inc., Country Junque, Daisy Garden, and Denise’s East End
Bloomers. Tour guides may also be purchased on the day of the
event. Other highlights of the tour include a raffle of
beautifully wrapped and packaged theme baskets, an artists’
exhibit, plant sale, and free refreshments. The gardens as well
as the artists’ exhibit at the BAFFA Gillette House Gallery will
be open until 3 PM. “A Little Garden Music” has been said by
former tour-goers to be “one of the best garden tours on Long
Island.” We’re sure you’ll agree.
Orchestra and Chorus Conductors Plan an Interactive Concert
Program Especially For Children and Their Families
Join us for an afternoon of fun with music as on Sunday, June
6th, the Bay Area Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr.
Richard Wright, and the Bay Area Chorus under the direction of
Martha Campanile combine to present our June Pops Concert at 3 PM
at the Bayport-Blue Point High School Auditorium. This program is
specifically planned for children, parents and grandparents as
our conductors have planned an “interactive” program which
includes a play and a sing along with the talented musicians in
both the orchestra and chorus.
The first 50 children who arrive with a stuffed animal will
receive chimes. They will rehearse and have the opportunity to
play along with the Bay Area Symphony Orchestra during a portion
of this concert program.
Children will also be introduced to the instruments of a symphony
orchestra at the “Instrument Petting Zoo” where they may hear the
sounds and names of the various instruments as well as learn
where to look for them on the concert stage. Refreshments will be
served following the concert. Admission is free, but as always,
your donations are gratefully appreciated. Please refer to the
flyer insert for more information regarding the concert program.
Remember to bring your stuffed animal if you’d like to be a part
of the Bay Area Symphony Orchestra at this event.
